Post 8 - Seesaw
This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Seesaw in the software list. https://seesaw.com/
Description of the tool: Seesaw is a digital learning tool that allows students to experience learning in interactive and visual ways. Teachers can create activities on Seesaw for students to do. Here is a tutorial on how to use Seesaw specifically for teachers, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l231B9sk_nI
Ease of use: Seesaw is easy to use, especially for K-6 students. Seesaw has a simple set up for students to use and teachers are able to easily invite students to their classes. Students need minimal help to navigate the system.
Versatility: Seesaw is very versatile with the access of a variety of tools including drawing, voice recordings, videos, and text for students to use for learning. Seesaw also is for engaging all students, teachers, families, and administrators. You can use Seesaw on Chromebooks, tablets, and the web. Seesaw can be used for many types of learners.
Overall likelihood of using it in your classroom: I don't know how likely I will use this device, but I can see myself giving it a try to see if it is effective for my own classroom.
Connection: Seesaw connects to the Tier 3 TLC Framework Instructing because you can give students material for them to learn and demonstrate their learning.
Hi Jordan. I though you did a great job of explaining Seesaw. I like that this application is interactive friendly with students. I believe one of the biggest concerns is that some technologies do not engage our students in a interactive way. I like that it offers tools like drawing on a computer. It honestly makes it easier for students to write without using pen and paper. I would honestly use this tool because it seems very interactive with tools like drawing and video recordings. It would make time more efficient by using these tool rather than relying on pen and paper every time. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Jordan, I like this post about Seesaw. I like how this technology is good for students and teachers. It is well organized, and keeps the students engaged and doing things. This is a tool that kids can help them write when they do not like using a paper and pen to write.
ReplyDeleteHi Jordan. I like your connections to the TLC framework! I think you did a great job of explaining what seesaw is. This is a tool I could definitely see myself using in a classroom when I am teaching.
